Caprice Melt

INGREDIENTS:

  • 8 pieces, sour dough bread - rosemary infused

  • mayonnaise

  • 1 heirloom tomato

  • 12 oz mozzarella

  • salt, pepper

  • 1 tbsp dried basil

  • Balsamic dressing

15 Minutes door to door

PREPARATION:

  • Step 1

    Turn on Stove Broiler

  • Step 2

    Cut tomatoes in half, then cut each half into thin slices. Hit up each slice with salt, pepper and dried basil.

  • Step 3

    Cut mozzarella into 1/3 to 1/2 inch slices. Pepper them up.

  • Step 4

    Cut sour dough slices. Spread mayo across the top side of each slice. Place slices under broiler until desired crispness is obtained.

  • Step 5

    Take slices out and flip. Place mozzarella slice on each sourdough piece and place back under broiler. Let cheese melt.

  • Step 6

    Take slices out from under broiler. Place fresh basil and a tomato slice in between each two pieces of sour dough so that it goes sour dough, melted mozzarella, fresh basil, melted mozzarella, sour dough.

  • Step 7

    Plate sandwich and pour balsamic dressing for dipping
